Since the UBA General Assembly in Namur, Joëri ON6URE, well known for his articles in CQ-QSO and as a Belgian manufacturer of high-quality antennas (RF Guru), has taken on the role of Repeaters Manager within the Association.

During the annual meeting between the Belgian amateur radio associations and the BIPT/IBPT, he undertook to develop, for all associations combined, a single platform for managing and planning the spectrum used by all "unattended stations" in Belgium, and to make this platform available to everyone concerned.

The platform is now ready! However, data are still being added, so it remains a work in progress and, at this stage, should be regarded as a preview of the final system.

WHAT DOES THE PLATFORM DO?

For planning:

• All unattended stations (repeaters, beacons, etc.) belonging to all Belgian associations are included in a single register, together with their locations, frequencies and technical data.

• A frequency-planning tool checks a proposed frequency at a given location against all existing allocations: co-channel conflicts (e.g. CTCSS, DG-ID in YSF, etc.), adjacent-channel conflicts, required minimum distances, an estimated coverage area and compliance with the band plan. This means that, before submitting an application, you can determine whether a channel is available, can be reused or is blocked.

• A public map at https://on0.be displays all stations, frequencies and coverage areas, together with an overview of modulation types / emission classes.

For Sysops:

• You can view your station(s) together with all available details.

• You can complete and update the descriptive information yourself.

• You can submit requests (new station, modification or deletion). These are sent to the UBA manager for checking and approval before being submitted to the BIPT/IBPT.

• Security is provided through two-factor authentication (2FA) or a passkey.

Licences:

As there are discrepancies between the general list and the actual licences, Joëri asks each "Sysop" to provide a copy of their licence. The information on https://on0.be is also publicly available to all radio amateurs.

Note from ON4LS: Once every "Sysop" has correctly entered their data, we will promote the platform more widely to the general public. I am currently working on this for AGRAN's Wépion website.
