History in Brief
1950 – 1975
In the 1950s, ON4FK Etienne Galliègue, an electronics teacher from Flobecq, founded the section in Renaix. The first members — ON5GL, ON5JS, ON5QO, ON5GR and ON1RS — attended his courses at the Sprague factory premises on rue de Mérode. In the 1970s, Albert ON6DU became president and the name RSX (Ronse-Renaix) was officially adopted.
1976 – 1986
Under Albert ON6DU's presidency, the section structured itself and developed its technical activities. In 1979 the first fox hunt (vossenjacht) was organised. The section became fully integrated into the Ronse community, notably through the Red Cross.
1986 – 2013
Michel ON6QO took over in 1986, considerably developing the section: contests, field days, expeditions and technical presentations multiplied. Membership grew significantly. Omer ON6CO served as president from 1993 to 2000, then Michel ON6QO resumed until 2013, a period marked by the twinning with F5KFL and many joint expeditions.
2013 – to present
Frédéric ON7WZ has been president since 2013, continuing the tradition of technical and social activities. The bilingual website reflects the identity of Ronse/Renaix: a community where Dutch and French naturally coexist.
